Consumers are becoming increasingly interested in where their food comes from and how it is produced and processed. They want their food to be safe, healthy, nutritious, and abundant, and America’s farmers are best positioned to continue to meet consumer desires to the benefit of both farmers and consumers. As urban consumers learn more about food production, they can begin to better understand some of the challenges family farmers face, and as farmers build stronger relationships with consumers, they can better meet consumer demand.
